Cassiopeia A Revealed: A Stunning Portrait of Stellar Death and Rebirth
A breathtaking new image from NASA offers one of the most detailed looks yet at a supernova remnant, and it is nothing short of cosmic art. Scientists using the Chandra X ray Observatory and the James Webb Space Telescope have joined forces to study Cassiopeia A, the remains of a massive star that exploded over three hundred years ago. Cassiopeia A lies about eleven thousand light years from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia.
